At 2 in the morning of Sunday, the standard time is delayed one hour in much of the country, so that people can have an additional hour of sleep (or whatever they prefer) .

With the change of schedule, people will enjoy more light in the morning, but it will get dark earlier in the evening .

Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and much of Arizona do not change the schedule, so they will not need to change the time on their clocks.

Daylight saving time will return at 2 a.m. on Sunday , March 8, 2020 .

According to surveys conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 7 out of 10 Americans prefer not to change the time, but they don't agree on what time to stay .
