Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, head of the astronomical committee in Saudi Arabia, says the moon will be just above the Kaaba on Wednesday night, March 24, and this is the second sighting this year.
The head of the astronomical committee further said that the moon will be directly above the Kaaba at 9:10 pm on Wednesday according to the time of Makkah Mukarramah, which will be visible till 3:59 am at dawn.
He added that the direction of the Ka’bah can be determined accurately from anywhere at that time due to the crescent of the moon rising directly above the Ka’bah, but it would not be useful for cities near Makkah to determine the direction of the Ka’bah. Jeddah, Taif and Asfan.
It should be noted that on January 28 this year, the moon was just above the Kaaba, which was seen at 10:16 pm, while last year in 2020, this astronomical sight was also seen twice.
