The production house of former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama has announced to make a film based on Pakistani novelist Mohsin Hamid’s ‘Exit West’.
According to the news agency, Obama’s production house ‘Higher Ground Production’ has also announced six new projects for Netflix.
The book Exit West tells the story of a young couple who, in the midst of a global refugee crisis, seek magical gates to reach other places and land.
The main role in the film will be played by British actor of Pakistani origin Riz Ahmed.
The novel ‘Exit West’ was published in 2017, former US President Barack Obama has declared it his favorite novel.
The online steaming website Netflix says the films will be released in the next few years by the former US president’s production house, but did not give a release date.
Remember that Obama signed a multimillion production deal with Netflix in 2018.
In this regard, Michelle Obama said that the power of storytelling has always impressed us. This is the power by which we can change the way we think and make a positive impact on the people around us.
He added that Netflix is the best platform through which we can better communicate our ideas to the people.
