According to a foreign news agency, Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen told a press conference in the Russian capital Moscow that if the United States did not withdraw from Afghanistan by May 1 under the peace agreement, it could face serious consequences.
Sohail Shaheen said that if the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan was not completed by May 1 this year, the United States would be prepared for serious consequences.
A Taliban spokesman said he hoped the new US president would not deviate from the agreement.
Sohail Shaheen added that he and NATO forces should be called back from Afghanistan by a set date so that we can reach a consensus political roadmap for a solution to the Afghan problem and a peaceful settlement.
